Blackjack Hi-Opt 2 Count

Hi-Opt 2 card counting system is even more advanced than the Hi-Opt 1 systrem as it demands more detailed count and not every player can handle this system. The actual edge it provides is not very significant from the first sight, however it does make a difference if you use it correctly.

This system is for those who have been using the Hi-Opt 1 system for a long time and need higher edge.

Blackjack Hi-Opt 2 Count Strategy

Winning blackjackAs all the rest card-counting systems, this one also demands constant attention and focus on the table. However, as the previous systems were one level counts, this one is a two level count, as some of the cards are valued as 2. This system is not recommended for the players that can lose concentration easily.

The basic idea of the Hi-Opt 2 strategy is in assigning a value of 2 to cards that make a bigger difference. Therefore the count becomes more difficult but more accurate. The card values in this system are as follows:

  • 2  and 3 — +1
  • 4 and 5 — +2
  • 6 and 7 — +1
  • 8 and 9 — 0
  • 10J, Q, K — −2

As you can see, special groups of cards include tens, which are valued as -2 and 4-5 that are values as +2. Aces according to this system are counted as 0, but players most of the time keep special track of them besides the main count. This may be done by placing a separate stack of chips (which is though too obvious) or by using toes.

Hi-Opt 2 Counting system is a balanced one because when you are done counting the cards you end up with 0.
