Bust

A hand over 21 that is automatic loses. If a dealer goes bust it is a win for the player as long as they do not go bust. Basic strategy uses the fact the dealer has to hit on 16 and is therefore likely to go bust, by advising the player to stand on some hands against the dealer total of 15 or 16.
