Blackjack Tournament Raises Funds For Former Sports Stars
Special Blackjack tournament has been recently held to collect money to aid former sports players who require financial help. Paul Hornung, the ex-halfback of the Green Bay Packer football team took part in this tournaments held to raise funds for former sports players in need.
The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund was among the organizers of the event for the ex-players of the most popular game in the United States. The money collected at the blackjack tournament will help former sports stars pay for medical care and everyday needs.
The idea of the special blackjack tournament arose from the fact that former sports stars receive not enough money after their retirement. If compared to the sums that the players may get now after retirement some of the famous ex-stars have tiny income. For example, Paul Hornung receives $900 each month rather than $8,000 that he could get now as the early retired sports player.
